Data sources and methodology
We're upfront about where every number Klimetre calculates comes from. You should know the source of the data before trusting a savings calculator.
Electricity tariff
The tiered tariff shown for Turkey (a separate unit price up to and beyond 200 kWh) is prepared to reflect the residential tariff structure published by EPDK. Since EPDK doesn't offer this data as a clean API or scrapeable source, the figures are currently a hand-entered sample set that needs regular verification. Every API response includes a data_as_of timestamp, so you always know which snapshot you're looking at.
Live data for Germany, the US, and the UK isn't connected yet; these countries are marked "coming soon" in the calculator.
AC models
The power draw and energy rating values on model pages are manually collected from epey.com, a source that compiles manufacturer spec sheets. Every model page links directly to the source. Models can be discontinued or updated; check the manufacturer's own page for current pricing and availability.
Calculation logic
Daily, monthly, and yearly cost is calculated in kWh from the AC's watt draw, daily runtime hours, and monthly runtime days, then applied to the selected country's tiered or flat tariff. This logic is implemented separately but identically across the backend (Go), web (TypeScript), and mobile (Dart) apps, so you get the same result no matter which platform you use.
